Ode to the 4th is part of an ongoing series of paintings entitled One Man's Junk. Lately, I have become increasingly enamored with the amusing concept of garden statues. During the weekend of the 4th of July, I drove around the west side of Cincinnati taking photographs of displays and garden statues all dressed up for America's Birthday.
